Cochinita Pibil 300g by Gourmet Passion

Cochinita Pibil is a traditional Mexican pork dish from the Yucatan Peninsula. To prepare, the pork is wrapped in banana leaves and marinated in sour citrus juice and achiote (which gives the dish its vibrant orange color) and simmered for hours until tender and falling apart. This cooking technique dates back to Mayan times and is called Pibil.

Cochinita Pibil is traditionally served with fresh tortillas, onions and cilantro.
