Achiote Paste PEPE COMALA 100 g, Annattopaste. Achiote paste is a Mexican spice paste made from the seeds of the annatto plant. The dark red seeds are ground and then mixed with various other spices (such as cumin, pepper, coriander, oregano, etc.) to make a paste. The plant comes from the Yucatán in southern Mexico. Achiote are mainly used to create the typical red color that is used in traditional Mexican dishes such as cochinita pibil, chorizos or tacos al pastor.
